John Aldred, Jack Donald and the late Sydney Kahanoff are all noted not only for their considerable business accomplishments but their dedication to philanthropic endeavors. They have raised or personally donated tens of millions of dollars for various causes.
Last year, Enerflex Systems founder John Aldred set a record for the largest-ever personal gift to SAIT Polytechnic. Similarly, Jack Donald, former president and CEO of the integrated fuel company Parkland Industries, made the largest-ever private donation to his hometown’s Red Deer College in 2007.
