John Aldred, Jack Donald and the late Sydney Kahanoff are all noted not only for their considerable business accomplishments but their dedication to philanthropic endeavors. They have raised or personally donated tens of millions of dollars for various causes.
Last year, Enerflex Systems founder John Aldred set a record for the largest-ever personal gift to SAIT Polytechnic. Similarly, Jack Donald, former president and CEO of the integrated fuel company Parkland Industries, made the largest-ever private donation to his hometown’s Red Deer College in 2007. “The lives of all three Laureates embody the Alberta spirit. They are enterprising, innovative and prosperous — while being ethical and compassionate,” said JASA President and CEO Mr. Scott Hillier. “The selection committee has chosen three remarkable additions to the Calgary Business Hall of Fame.”
Biographies for all three men are attached and will be available for public viewing at the newly-expanded Hall of Fame wall on the main floor of Bankers Hall East.
